What are K Maps ?

K Maps names after there creator Karnaugh are used to reduced the given boolean expression. First we draw the usual Boolean table with all possible combinations of 0 and 1 and than starts taking the biggest pieces squares or rectangles of 1 (say first a square of 8 than a rectangle of 6 than a square of 4) unless we covered all the 1's. Than the expressions formed from these pieces will be the minimised expression of the given expression.
