There were 3 stages in the recruitment process:
First stage was written test, which, in turn, had 3 sections. First was English which was quite easy. It had many questions on synonyms straight from BARRON’s guide and simple fill in the blanks. Second section had aptitude type questions which were mostly taken from R.S.Aggrawal’s book or CAT materials. Third section contained questions on C and C++.
Second stage was group discussion, which focused on confidence level.
In the third stage, technical interview was taken. Questions were quite tough. Some of them were related to carnot cycle, mostly related to mechanical engg. Some more were as below:
i) What will happen if refrigerator is left open in a room?
ii) Which motor is normally used for least cost and maximum efficiency?
In this stage itself, HR was included. They asked personal questions. Some questions were based on their presentation (PPT) too. They asked about candidate’s ambition in life, his preference of posting place and section etc. One question was .. A project needs to be completed in 20 days. After 15 days, the whole project collapses. What will you do now?
