Progress Software Placement Paper

The first part was aptitude and logical reasoning. There were 17 questions and the total time was 45 minutes.
In aptitude there were three question to fill up the series like 4,6,9,14,23,? three question from encryption. A table was given in which one no. was missing. We had to find the number so that the number fits according to the patterns in the table. There were two types of questions like this.
Five to six questions were directly from SHAKUNTLA DEVI'S book. There was two logical reasoning like five rooms are to be alloted to five persons there are five person in which a person is allergy from smoke. A certain person should be adjacent to a certain person.A person which is allergic from smoke should not be next to either of person which smokes.
There were question from C and JAVA. There were 20 questions. Time was half an hour. We had the option between C and JAVA. The C questions were average.
The third was subjective.time was half an hour. We were given two program of which we had to write the pseudo code. The first one was based on the use of realloc. The second one was to write a push and pop routine for a stack using linked list.
After this 10 students were shortlisted and for these students a lab test was conducted. The first program was to implement ls command. After this round 3 students were shortlisted for the technical round.
Finally one people got the offer.
