L&T Placement Paper-2 on 9th March 2007

L&T PAPER ON 9th MARCH
well..hi..!! every one.. the following was my procedure for selection in L&T infotech..
PLACE: Alwar LIET college.. date : 9th march '07 time taken in the process : 36 hrs..
the procedure was as follows..
1) aptitude test (NOT technical)
2)GD/extempore (again NOT technical)
3) HR interview ( though some where also asked technical )
APTITUDE
there were 3 sections. each consisting of 30 questions. the three sections were:
a) quantitative aptitude
b) logical (verbal, non verbal)
c) English
quantitative aptitude
as i find quantitative questions a little tough hence i say that the test was not that easy.. but once you practice R.S aggarwal, answers to those questions will come up eventually.. well..i dnt remember the exact questions but i will certainly tell the topics that, i think , you should practice with time clock ..as speed is the most important factor.
the questions were from following topics
1)percentage
2)average
3)data interpretation
4)time and work.
5)questions on train..and speed..
6)ratio proportion
7)profit and loss..
though i recommend that you should also practice calender,clocks,and problem on ages..
logical ( verbal and non verbal )
i find this section..most easy and interesting section..as there is nothing to rote.just to think.
.well..
again the questions were from following topics..
1) blood relation
2) puzzle test ( do every question in r.s aggarwal)
3)venn diagram
4)data sufficiency
5)arithmetic reasoning
6)logic
7)statement arguments
8)series completion in pictorial form
9)figure matrix..
10)analogy in pictures
English
English too was not that easy.. it had some word meaning..synonyms antonyms..analogy ..like the GRE test style.. there were sentence completion questions..which were quite easy.. reading comprehension..in my case the passage was simple.. the concepts of English were of 12th C.B.S.E standard..
i dnt panic.. stay calm.. distribute your time.. be confident.. and you are through..
GD/extempore..
our college was registered for the last day of recruitment.. so i think seeing more ppl coming on the last day.. L&T ppl had decided to leave GD and start with extempore.. the procedure was simple.. 3 topics were given and you had to pick any one topic and speak for a min about it.. i this case thy check you..communication skills..expression..confidence..thoughts..
every 2 student was selected in the EXPTEMPORE..
interview.. (HR)
once you pass the GD round..90 % of the chances you are in.. but dnt' take it lightly as i have seen many of my friends being rejected from the interview..
be aware of the time.. be confident.. don't contradict your CV be what you are.. you have to fill up a form.. Questions will be asked from
your family background..
education..
hobbies..
yourself..
and just friendly talks.. congrats to my couple of friends that got selected in L&T
