HCL Latest Placement Paper - March 2007
This HCL paper is of 18th march 2007
The Pattern of the Written test is like below -
* Around 35 questions on aptitude.
* Few puzzles (check shakuntala Devi and also my Puzzle Book)
* Maths section,time and distance, blood relation and simple coding n decoding questions
* There were 20 questions from technical background. 15 were from c & c++ and the rest were from microprocessor & software testing as well as on Data Structures. To refresh the subjects, do look at Software Engineering Interview Questions and Data Structures Interview Questions
Technical part was fairly easy but aptitude was tough. Make sure you are managing your time well as you can run out of time. Out of 400, around 100 got short selected.
After that, GD(Group Discussion) round started in which my topic was to talk on my Favourite movie.Judge was a very cool person and he wanted us to be comfortable.
After that out of the group of 10 me and only one more person who got cleared gd round.40 student cleared gd.
Now finally Interview round came.I was very nervous at that time. My interview was taken by a madam.
She strted with Same Old Questions. (Please look at HR Interview Questions for Frequently asked Non Technical Interview Questions to prepare well). The questions asked me -
(1)Introduce urself.
(2)Family background.
(3)Tell me the area's in govt. where we can apply IT . I told about e-governance,agriculture based channels ,connecting each deppartment of govt.
(4)Tell me about SDLC(s/w development life cycle...)
(5)ERP/SAP. (Check SAP Questions and Articles for more info as well as Technology Articles)
(6)Tell me the types of project that any IT company deals..
* Why hcl....give d best details of company to them...they will get impress ?
* have you appeared in any other company ?
(7)abstraction n Encapsulation.
(8)she took mine writtern copy told to solve the puzzle. And some aptitude question

(11)Now she asked me about relocation.

Only 20 got selected out of 400. One advice, make sure you tell them how much you know.
